Trip to Wolf`s Lair in Mazuria Lake District in Northern Poland famous for its 2,000 lakes. The fortress is hidden in the forest and contains 80 buildings of which 50 are concrete bunkers. The hidden city consists of nearly 200 buildings: shelters, barracks, two airports, a power station, a train station and waterworks. It is hard to believe that the Nazis managed to build it in such a short time and that they had thought of everything that can be needed and tried to prepare for every possibility. In 1944 there were two thousand people living in the complex! The Wolf’s Lair was also the scenery to an unsuccessful assassination attempt of Adolf Hitler. Many decisions regarding the strategy of the Nazi army were made here.
You will also have a chance to spend the night in the hotel located next to Wolf`s Lair itself. Yes! This little place is located deep in the woods, but it has a restaurant and a bar.
After breakfast, we will get back to Gdansk to have lunch and a guided tour there. At the evening we will take you to the airport to catch an evening flight to London.
It`s a port city on the Baltic coast of Poland. With its origins as a Polish stronghold erected in the 980s by Mieszko I of Poland, the city’s history is complex, with periods of Polish rule, periods of Prussian or German rule, and periods of autonomy or self-rule as a “free city”. It was considered the wealthiest and the largest city of Poland, prior to the 18th-century rapid growth.
